Examination of Table 25 shows that among the groups of estab-
lishments in New York oe the lowest percentage for raw material,
60.69, is in Group IV; the highest, 65.44, in Group III. Among the
groups of establishments outside New York City, the variation in the
percentage is less than 1 per cent.
Among the establishments in New York City, the percentage for
direct labor wages in Group IV, 15.70, is the lowest, but the per-
centage for amount paid to contractors, 4.93, is considerably the
highest. The groups of establishments with the smallest sales, Groups
I and V, show the smallest percentage for total direct labor cost.
