It was many years ago that the Mitsubishi became interested in 
the warehousing business and thus are recognized as the pioneers of 
this kind of business in this country. Putting aside minor details, it 
may be worth while to state that, in 1887, a warehouse company 
under the name of THE TOKYO SOKO KABUSHIKI KAISHA 
(THE TOKYO WAREHOUSE CO., LTD.) was founded by the 
late Baron Koichiro Kawada and Mr. Heigoro Shoda with the assist-
