V. Zine
Zine ore is found in Slovenia and Serbia. At present only the Slovenian mines
at Mezice and Celje are at work, and these produce only small quantities. The
following list shows the output of ore.

In order to supply the zine mines at Celje about 15.000 tons of zinc ore are
imported yearly from Austria, Italy and Germany, to a value of about 10 million
dinars.
VI. Manganese
Manganese which is usually allied to iron ore, is found in Bosnia, Sumadija,
South Serbia and Montenegro, but very little is mined. The only mines at work
are those of Semizovac-Cevljanovié in Bosnia, which from 1919 to 1925 produced
the following amounts :

Most of the manganese mined is used in the country for the smelting of iron,
while the rest, about 13,5%, is exported.
VII. Bauxite
Deposits of bauxite appear in many places in Slovenia, Croatia, Dalmatia
and Montenegro. The chief are near the Lake of Bohinje in Slovenia, at Velebit in
Croatia, on the islands of Krk and Rab, while even larger quantities exist at DrniS
near the railway line from Knin to Sibenik. The bauxite in Dalmatia is estimated
to exceed 20 million tons.
