River Shipping
1. Legal regime on the Danube
Certain international regulations are in force on the Danube and its tribu-
taries the Tissa and Drava downstream from Boréa, which, without annulling our
sovereignty over these waters, limit it in some respects.
These limitations are contained in the Convention of Danubian Statutes
of 1921.

The total number of shipowners is 277 of whom 107 are at Belgrade.
The above figures include 30 pleasure motor boats of 320 hp.
The numbers of barges include only those and wooden vessels of over 50
tons and the figures of owners also are for those only. Smaller barges have a total
tonnage of 13.127.7 and are 1.100 in number.
The state boats under various departments are not included above, but
the numbers include state boats hired by private individuals.
