CoNsrrcTUs, NOT EXHAUSTIVE, TO ILLUSTRATE THE NATURE OF THE SERVICES 
RENDERED BY DEPARTMENTS ON REPAYMENT TERMS AND THE MET TODS 
OF CHARGING FOR THEM. 
4.—The following are typical of the services performed. 
ADMIRALTY. 
Supply of goods from stock, e.g., ° Naval” stores (timber, paint, 
metals, ete.), coal and oil fuel, gun mountings and machinery, 
naval wrmament stores (guns, ammunition, torpedces, elc.), vie- 
tnalling stores (provisions, clothing and mess utensils), including 
inspection and handling incidental thereto. 
Dockyard services such as repair of ships, laying moorings, ete. 
Works services, e.g., erection of buildings for War Office and Air 
Ministry where those Departments are less well situated to under- 
take the work. 
Agency services, such as placing of contracts (as agent for another 
Department or Government) and inspection connected therewith. 
Medical services (see Note 1 on page 20). 
War OrrFice. 
Supply of goods from stock (e.g., clothing, equipment, medical, 
veterinary, warlike and engineer stores and consumable supplies), 
including inspection and handling incidental thereto. 
Manufacture and repair in the Ordnance Factories or elsewhere. 
Works services rendered by War Office for. e.g.. Admiralty and Air 
Ministry. ’ 
Agency services such as placing of contracts (as agent for another 
Department or Government) and inspection connected therewith. 
Medical services (see Note 1 on page 20).

Services rendered to Ministry of Health and Scottish Board of Health 
in connection with Widows’, Orphans’ and Old Age Contributory 
Pensions Act (sale of stamps, distribution of cards. payment of 
Pension Orders, etc.). 
Engineering works for Government Departments or Municipal or other 
bodies (damage to plant, diversions, ete.). 
Testing of engineering stores ordered under contracts placed by other 
Governments. : 
Supply of telephonists and telegraphists. 
Supply of engineering and postal stores, of uniform clothing and of
