THE STORY OF ARTIFICIAL SILK
these new profits? How can I hitch my
wagon to this new star ? ”
There will be vast changes, very soon, in
our clothing trades, textile machinery trades,
carpet and rug trades—in all manner of
trades.
As for our cotton, wool and linen trades,
they must at once face new problems. Their
markets are in danger. Nothing is as it was
10 years ago. A new factor has changed the
whole situation.
So far as I can find, this is the first non-
technical book on Artificial Silk that has been
written in any language. There are very few
books on it of any kind. There are only four
in the English language that give a technical
description of the processes.
Not much is known by the public of this
wonderful new textile. There has been very
little advertising, for the following four
reasons -—
(1) The demand is greater than the supply.
(2) The Artificial Silk firms have had to
concentrate their attention upon manufactur-
ing problems.
