The total imports of wheat into Germany from January to August
(inclusive), 1903, were 1,183,325.4 tons, of which Russia furnished
418,325.5 tons, Argentina 262,280.7 tons, and the United States
413,288.2 tons.
The wholesale prices for wheat at Antwerp in August, 1903, per

metric ton (2,204.6 pounds), were:

In subsequent reports Consul-General Guenther transmitted a
number of letters® received from the following parties interested in

the importation of macaroni wheat:

D. Berwin, of Hamburg, Brahmsallee 11, agent for wheat, etc., who is willing
to act as agent for macaroni wheat for first-class exporters.
Adolph Schoenstadt, of Leipzig, agent for twenty-five years for wheat, etc., for
importers and milling establishments.
Moritz Ponfick, of Frankfort, Mannheim, and Duisburg, wishes to receive offers
for macaroni wheat. |
Alfred Pleiser, of Berlin, Knesebeckstrasse 40, having agencies in Germany,
Austria, and Switzerland for American products.
Richard Meissner, Leipzig, Packhof Strasse 3, has repeatedly imported ‘‘ goose
wheat,” which is probably another name for macaroni wheat, from Canada. Desires
 offers from first-class firms.
Ernst Hugo Roehl, Hamburg, would like to act as agent for exporters of
macaroni wheat. :
Alfred Kolbe, Hamburg, Kirchenallee 24; import commission agency; has business
 friends in Sicily who are manufacturers of dough articles; would like samples
and lowest prices for macaroni wheat per metric ton delivered at Messina or Palermo,
 Italy.
A. &amp; W. Niermoeller, Guetersloh, Germany; millers; ask for prices and samples,
stating that they eventually could use large quantities.
Albrecht Egner, agencies, Frankfort; asks for offers.
Carl Renner, Dresden, Hegerstrasse 2; buyers for dough-goods manufacturers
for twenty-five years, and for the roller mills of Budapest since 1889; thinks he can
