GENERAL EQUIPMENT Other services rendered by port authorities to shipping are of a general character. Supplies of light and power (electric, pneumatic, steam and water under pressure) must normally be available. The furnishing of fresh water to ships’ tanks, and the disposal of engine ashes and refuse from galleys are services of a domestic and sanitary nature, which are none the less essential while a ship is in port. The quays and roads must be kept scavenged and well lighted and in good repair. The fumigation of holds is sometimes done with the assistance of port officials. 5—(6v. Nn 210"
