SWITZERLAND 
A. — Budgetary Statement 
The Swiss budget is divided into two sections : the administration account 
and the extraordinary account. Receipts from the extraordinary account at 
present are derived from the taxation of war profits. The extraordinary expen- 
ditures arise from unemployment, a subvention to the Federal Railways, and an 
insurance subvention. In 1922 this ordinary account produced a surplus of 
46,782,418 Swiss francs. In 1923 it showed a deficit of 28,935.211 Swiss 
francs and in 1924 a deficit of 20,450,000 Swiss francs.
