HIS is a new subject. As yet, there 
is no book on it. So far as I know, 
this is the first article that has ever 
been written on the hygienic value of Artificial 
Silk clothing.

Here is the great new Fact upon which this 
chapter is based—THE ULTRA-VIOLET RAYS 
OF THE SUN DO NOT GO THROUGH COTTON, 
WOOLLEN, LINEN OR REAL SILK CLOTHING, 
BUT 50 PER CENT. OF THEM GO THROUGH 
ARTIFICIAL SILK CLOTHING. 
The Ultra-Violet rays, which are necessary 
in order to have perfect health, do not go 
through ordinary glass. We are now making 
a special new kind of glass that allows them 
to ‘go through. They do not go through
