WILL-POWER IN BUSINESS Many a young man feels “I am like that one last piece in the valley. Here I am, and 1 don’t know where I go. I do not seem to fit anywhere.” For years, as a young man, I felt like that. I didn’t fit anywhere. But I held fast to the belief that there must be a place for me somewhere if I could only find it. Eventually, the larger thought came to me that I had to make my own place—that I had first of all to shape myself, so that I would not be a common brick, but a worthy and welldesigned part of the Temple. Self-discovery and self-development-—concentrate on these. What are you good for ? That is the vital question. I don’t mean— what are you bad for ? Too many young people soon discover their weakness, but they don’t discover their strength. What possible value is in you ? That is what you must find out. You must cut free from the rank-and-file of the standardized automata, and become one of the efficient few. And the sooner you discover your value, the longer will you live happily and possess in all its fullness the joy of life. The test of genuine ambition is action.
