everywhere the strong and the daring are
coming to the front.
Up go the fit, and down go the unfit—that
is the law of Nature that has always prevailed
and always will. No matter what nor where
you are, you are now having a chance to
become a leader.
If you are a grocer in a village, you have the
chance to be the leader of that village. If you
are a travelling salesman, you have a chance
to be the most helpful and successful man in
the firm. If you are a Member of Parliament—
great heavens, what a chance you have to be a
member of a new Cabinet !
Chances for new men |! There never were as
many as there are to-day. Now, as always, the
world belongs to those who have the courage
and the sense and the will-power to assume
the responsibilities of leadership.
Most people remain privates all their lives.
A few become sergeants and corporals. Still
fewer become captains and colonels. And only
once in a while is there a general.
