" WILL-POWER IN BUSINESS

—
people. Recently a man told me that his
Chamber of Commerce had 700 members. I
asked him—‘‘ How many do you have at a
meeting ?
‘““About 23 or 30,” he replied. That Cham-
ber of Commerce, you see, is only 4 per cent.
alive and 96 per cent. dead. Most Chambers
are the same. Five or six men, who meet once
a week, can start a progressive movement in
any town. I have known one man to do it.
There are only 68,000,000 white British
people in the whole British Empire, which has
a population of 450,000,000. ‘There are only
13,000,000 Jews in the whole world, and yet
they do a great deal to control the world’s
wealth and shape the world’s opinions.
Numbers do not matter. Inert people do not
count. ‘They are only humanity in bulk.
Everything worth while is done, always and
everywhere, by the few who have a Purpose and
a strong will.
There are great Leaders and small Leaders.
The great Leaders were small when they
began. Almost any man can establish his
Leadership in his town in some one thing. No
matter what his business is, he can do some
one bit of it a little better than anyone else.
