WILL-POWER IN BUSINESS

of a nation of 140,000,000 people with the
brain of a seven-year-old child !
The Czar is dead and done with. We think
of him as one of the Fools of history. He
allowed his nation to be ruined, while he was
‘“ absorbed in trifles.”
Every purposeful man must have a certain
amount of time every day, set apart for his own
use. This is no easy matter. A man has to
fight for his time. If he gives it away freely to
everyone who asks for it, he can never carry
out any large plan of his own.
One of the hardest difficulties that d:ily
confronts every successful man is how to
protect himself from the people who steal his
time. The Time-Lifters! They cause much
more loss than the Shop-Lifters.
They swarm around every eminent man.
They shower letters on him. They call him up
by telephone. They rob him of the priceless
time that he needs for his family, his firm and
for his own purposes.
Henry Ford solves this problem by answer-
ing no letters and by seeing no one whom he
does not wish to see. That is, perhaps, one
reason why he has made a bigger success in
less time than any other man has ever done.
