BUSINESS: Furnishes electric light and power directly at retail without com- petition in the cities of Longview and Morton, Wash, and territory adjacent thereto, and manufactured gas in Tacoma, Everett, Olympia, Aberdeen, Hoquiam, Centralia and Chehalis in Washington. Water is supplied at retail in Long- view. Total population served is estimated to exceed 250,000. Company's elec- tric power requirements at Longview are purchased under long-term contracts with the Long-Bell Lumber Co. The company generates its own power at Mor- ton. Total number of electric customers, 3,443, and for 12 months ended Dec. 31, 1929, 9,185,893 k.w. hours of electric energy was sold. The total number of water customers is 2,407, and for 12 months ended Dec. 31, 1929, 36,053,500 cubic feet of water was sold. The total number of gas customers is 17,407, and for 12 months ended Dec. 31, 1929, 578,933,100 cubic feet of gas was sold. PROPERTY: The gas department comprises manufacturing plants located at Tacoma, Everett, Aberdeen and Chehalis. The aggregate daily capacity of the manufacturing plant is 6,495,000 cubic feet, with storage capacity of 2,495,000 cubic feet. Transmission and distribution systems aggregate 421 miles of mains.
