XII.—-OTHER RUBBER MANUFACTURES. 
63. When considering tyres, mechanical rubber goods and foot- 
wear, we have dealt with fairly well defined classes of goods, the 
international trade in which is generally of such importance that 
they are separately returned in the import and export statistics of 
the chief manufacturing countries. The remaining classes of 
rubber manufactured goods are by no means so clearly defined. 
The headings in the trade returns describe them differently and 
many of the classes are included under composite headings from 
which it is impossible to ascertain at all accurately which classes 
are included. Rubber manufactures which may broadly be 
described as sports goods are shown in the returns of the United 
Kingdom and the United States, but not in those of the other 
countries. The wide range of surgical rubber manufactures are 
detailed in the returns of the United States only. Rubber water- 
proofed fabric is specified in the returns of the United States and 
partly in the returns of the United Kingdom. Comparisons 
similar to those in Sections V, VI, VII and VIII are therefore 
impracticable. 
64. We give such details as are available in the trade returns 
of the four countries—the United Kingdom, Canada, the United 
States and Germany-—which make a partial classification of these 
miscellaneous rubber goods.
