In 1926 and 1927 the United Kingdom was by far the most important export market for French tyres and tubes, taking, in L927, over 16 per cent. and, in 1926, over 27 per cent. of the otal quantity of exports of tyres and tubes. The Michelin Com- pany, however, have founded a factory in England. The first contracts were placed in June, 1926 and the factory was completed in October, 1927. The first tyres were manufactured in this factorv on the 15th November 19927. 70.
