At present they are not working on full time. 
The Hutchinson factory is in Milan and they have branches 
in Bologna, Turin, Rome, Naples, Padova and Genoa. They 
manufacture motor-cycle and cycle tyres, rubber soles and heels 
and various mechanical rubber goods. 
8.P.I.G.A. manufacture pneumatic tyres for cycles and motor 
cycles and a few aeroplane tyres, in addition to a large assortment 
of various rubber mechanical goods. 
Walter Martiny is the oldest firm connected with the manufac- 
ture of tyres in Italy, but their business is small. They chiefly 
make solid tyres, and only a few pneumatic tyres. 
Bergougnan and Tedeschi manufacture, in addition to solid and 
pneumatic tyres, rubbered textiles, rainproofs and various rubber 
accessories. 
Michelin, Hutchinson and Bergougnan companies are associated 
with the French firms of the same names. - 
111. In the trade in rubber manufactures, Italy is essentially 
an exporting country and imports are comparatively small. The
