Remarks.

According to Kelaart this short-tailed
rat is very abundant in grass lands
near Kandy and also in stable yards
in Kandy.
found in all parts of the Island, from
the sea level to the elevation of
Nuwara Eliya. It is a very large
rat, exceeding a foot in length exclusive
 of the tail.
