470 REPORT ON COOPERATION IN AMERICAN EXPORT TRADE,

Army and navy authorities, 30 per cent discount without cash discount or
turnover bonus, subject to the terms of delivery prescribed. }
Other State and municipal authorities, 25 per cent discount without any
turnover bonus and without cash discount, subject to the terms of delivery
prescribed.
New quotations on thrust-ball bearings were only allowed to be sold at
80 per cent discount beginning Monday, February 23, 1914. This resolution
must be interpreted in such a way that new quotations also include all those
yuotations on abnormal thrust bearings which left on February 23, 1914, i. e.,
also to customers or interested parties who are entitled to 40 per cent discount
on standard thrust-ball bearings up to April 1, 1914, on the strength of previous
guotations.
Quotations which can be proven as having been made for 1914 and which
had to be named to the confidential agent and whose withdrawal was not
possible remain in effect. These firms may be furnished goods at the same
prices by all the members of the convention.
The prices made known by F. & 8. on individual parts (pressure disks and
ball races) must not be underbid.
Two-row, single-acting thrust bearings with displaced balls must not be
quoted on.
The single-acting multirow thrust-ball bearings are divided by concentric
circles into as many parts as it contains rows of balls, in which connection
the widths of the parts are uniform. The one-row bearings thereby produced
are computed in the same way as standard or abnormal axial bearings.
Rheinland thrust bearings, double acting, with one row of balls, must only
be furnished to machine factories at the discount stipulated for race construction,
i. e., dealers and repair shops receive a discount of 20 per cent; machine
factories, automobile factories, etc., not over 25 per cent discount.
PARTLY GROUND BEARINGS.
Patent bearings (group IIa) other than ground in one groove are not released.
Bearings of group Ila must not be quoted on until further notice, except for
use in connection with roller curtains, automatic roller paths, and also for all
conveyors running on wheels and operated by man power or not developing a
speed greater than 10 kilometers per hour.
These bearings must not be ground or emeried either in the bore or in the
outside diameter. These bearings may be furnished up to at the most 20 per
cent discount under the prices to which the buyer in question is entitled on
precision goods.
This extra discount of 20 per cent must be considered as an additional dlscount,
which is only deducted after taking off the basic discount, i. e., in connection
with machine factories. 25 per cent + 20 = 40 per cent. (General
meeting 20. 2. 14.)
This total discount of 40 per cent has to be considered as a maximum discount.

To this are added at the end of the year the turnover bonuses for machine
factories.
The prices are to be quoted net. Quotations must pass through the convention
bureau for its control and transmittal.

TRANSMISSION OR TENSION So0CKET BRARINGS.

Standard bearings with conical bore without tension socket are to be furnished
at the same prices as the same bearings with cylindrical bore. -
The prices for complete transmission bearings have not been regulated as
yet. Each firm sells at those prices which it has heretofore obtained. |
Machine factories and transmission firms in addition to the basic discount
of 25 per cent on

TENSION SOCKET BEARINGS AND HOUSINGS WITH TENSION SOCKET BEARINGS

receive an introductory bonus of 8 per cent, which is immediately deducted from
the invoice, but must only be allowed on orders or contracts amounting at the
least to 200 marks within a calendar year.
The turnover bonus to which machine factories with a minimum yearly
turnover of 5,000 marks are entitled, remains in effect. (General meeting
17. 1. 14.)
