6. The term "Scandinavia" has been used to refer to the four
countries Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, except where
otherwise indicated.

7. Except where otherwise noted, receipts from foreign tourism
and expenditures on foreign tourism exclude international
fare receipts and payments. Where available, a country or
regional breakdown of the principal generators of tourist
receipts is given, as well as a breakdown of expenditures on
foreign tourism by residents of the country.

8. Rates of exchange indicated in the tables are those which
have been employed to convert totals in terms of local currency
into United States' dollars. The rate indicated throughout is
that amount of local currency which equals US $1.00.
9. Only the tourist arrivals and nights from the main sources
of international tourist traffic have been recorded for each
country. Up to 20 such generating countries are included in
each table. More detailed breakdowns may be available from
individual National Tourist Offices, to whom enquiries should
pe addressed in the first instance.

10. While every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of material
in this publication, to the extent of revised country statistics
being issued with later mailings when necessary, IUOTO
cannot be responsible for subsequent corrections or changes in
series which may be made by National Tourist Offices. In cases
of doubt, reference should be made to the National Tourist
Office concerned, or to the IUOTO Secretariat.
