(*) The system proposed for the application of Customs duties to tissues differs from that at present in force, inasmuch as the existing Tariff classifies them according to their special or current names and at present, with some exceptions, the duties are determined by the nature of each tissue. The duties have been reckoned on the basis of 30 9, ad valorem. [Note included in the proposed new Tariff.
