The tenant renounces all right of legal notice to quit in the event of his vacating the 
premises of his own accord, sub-letting rooms, or taking in any persons forbidden by the 
landlord. 
The tenant is entitled to utilise the water supply solely for his own domestic use, and 
may on no account share it with others. The bath is to be used only for bathing 
purposes, whilst the washing of clothes may take place only in the wash-house, and the 
drying only in the drying loft. 
6. The tenant must observe the following house regulations :— 
(1.) The stairs, landings, landing windows and closets (water-closets) must be 
cleaned and kept clean during one week by the tenants in turn, as arranged by the 
landlord. The cleaning of the stairs and landings will be undertaken by the 
landlord for the tenant on the (quarterly) (monthly) payment of mk pf., to 
be paid at the same time as the rent. 
(2.) Rubbish, dust, broken pieces, kitchen refuse and such like may be deposited 
only in the places appointed for that purpose. Paper, straw, &c., must not be 
emptied into the dust-bin, and vessels with evil smelling contents must be removed 
only after 10 p.m. and must be well closed. 
(3.) Children must not be allowed to play, nor to sit nor to stand about the house 
doors, in the courtyards or on the stairs and landings. It is also forbidden to shake 
carpets, clothes, and other articles on the balconies, staircases, and landings. 
(4.) The breaking of fuel, chopping of firewood, and the beating of carpets may 
be undertaken only in the courtyard, at the place set apart for these purposes, and 
only on weekdays between the hours of 8 a.m. and 12 a.m. No iron stove may be 
used, no pipes may be connected with the tiled stove, no open fire may be made on 
the cooking stove, and not more fuel than is required for the day may be stored in 
the kitchen, Whole logs of wood must not be brought into the house or into the 
woodshed, and articles emitting an obnoxious smell must not be stored by the tenant. 
Walking about in wooden shoes is forbidden. 
(5.) Due notice must be given to the landlord of any intention to use the 
wash-house and drying loft ; the term of such use may not exceed three days, and 
the wash-house must be carefully cleansed after use. The tenant must pay pf. 
for each day’s use of the copper in the wash-house. 
(6.) Flower boxes may not be fixed to the windows, nor flower pots placed 
outside ; washing, and other articles must not be suspended from, laid on, or 
placed at the windows, and nothing may be thrown or poured out of them. It 
is likewise forbidden to display signs or advertisements from the windows or on the 
house without permission from the landlord. 
(7.) Horse vehicles belonging to the tenant shall not be driven through the 
house entrance without the permission of the landlord. 
(8.) When proceeding to the loft, stable, or cellar, the tenant and his family 
must make use of a protected light (lantern). Ashes must be damped with water 
only before placing them in the dustbin. 
(9.) The house door shall always be kept locked from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. The 
house key must not be entrusted to any one outside the family. In the event of the 
key being lost the landlord is entitled to have the lock changed and to charge the 
cost of the same together with all the new house keys to the tenant. Duplicate keys 
must not be made unless intimation is first given to the landlord. 
(10.) Nothing may be placed or hung in the yard, landings, stairs, passages and 
other places set apart for general use. In these places as well as in the premises 
tenanted, improper disturbances of rest, such as violent banging of doors, noisy use 
of stairs, running up and down, children’s noises, shouting on the part of children, 
and quarrelling are forbidden. Also every other kind of noise which disturbs the 
rest of occupants is forbidden after 10 p.m., and the playing of music after 11 p.m. 
(11.) In order to obviate disturbance, sewing and knitting machines must before 
being used be placed on a special layer of felt, rubber, or some woollen material. 
7. Notice of the intention to cancel this agreement must be given in writing at the 
latest months days before its expiry. Should this not be done on either side, 
it is understood that the agreement shall hold good, the agreement shall be considered to 
be renewed each time this occurs for a period of years months, and remains 
valid in all its clauses. 
In the event of the removal or death of the tenant, the legal notice on the part of the 
tenant or of his heirs can only be given on the 1st of April or October following his 
removal or death, so that there shall be at least one quarter between giving notice and the 
expiry thereof. 
The tenant binds himself, after giving notice to the landlord, to grant also to persons 
desirous of taking the premises, and when accompanied by the landlord or his representative, 
the right of entry into any part of the tenement between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on working 
days, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays and holidays, for the purpose of inspecting the 
same ; and in the event of his being hindered from doing so, to provide for the possibility 
of such inspection. He hereby gives the landlord express permission to open and enter 
the premises for the purpose of inspection if the absence of the tenant and the members
