Saturday hours 
Saturday was a short work day in all the hosiery plants studied. In 
most cases the hours were five or less. The Saturday schedule in no 
plant exceeded six hours.

Lunch period 
The typical lunch period for the day shift in the hosiery industry was 
45 minutes. The lunch period for the night shift ranged from 30 
minutes to one hour in nine plants. In four plants no lunch period 
was scheduled for the night shift.
