vi THE FISCAL PROBLEM IN MISSOURI which should prove of great value to all who are interested in tax problems, whether as citizens, as legislators, or as administrators of tax systems. In this investigation the Conference Board has had the helpful co-operation of a number of officials and commissions of the State of Missouri. The State Tax Commission, the State Auditor, the Secretary of State, and the State Super- intendent of Public Schools, in particular, gave valuable assistance, and grateful acknowledgment is made of these courtesies. In the preparation of its studies the National Industrial Conference Board avails itself of the experience and judgment of the business executives who compose its membership and of recognized authorities in special fields, in addition to the scientific knowledge and equipment of its Research Staff. The publications of the Conference Board thus finally represent the result of scientific investigation and broad business experience, and the conclusions expressed therein are those of the Conference Board as a body.
