LOCATION: Tacoma, Wash. 
HISTORY: Organized in 1920. Coterminous with Pierce County, with an assessed 
valuation of $101,5682,628. Levy for port maintenance is 3.4 mills. Port owns 
240 acres fronting on deep water, in the industrial waterfront area of Tacoma. 
Improvements consist of Pier No. 1, 1200 feet long, with open storage for 15 
million feet of lumber. Shed No. 1, on Pier No. 2, a fireproof structure, 180'x1040’ 
with 45,000 tons cargo capacity. A cold storage plant, capacity 1 million cubic 
feet and 500,000-bushel grain elevator opened in 1930.

HISTORY: Incorporated under laws of Washington, May 5. 1928. Consolidated 
with Merchants Transportation Co. in 1928. 
BUSINESS: Operates freight boats regularly between Seattle, Tacoma, Shelton, 
Olympia, Port Townsend. Hadlock, Dungeness. Bellingham and the San Juan Ts- 
lands. 
PROPERTY: Owns following fleet of vessels: Skookum Chief, Mohawk, Capi- 
tal, Chimicum, Seal, Balana, Seatac, F. H. Marvin and V. P. Handy. Valuation 
of vessels, including their equipment, appraised by General Appraisal Co. March 
27, 1929, is in excess of $350,000. Company owns the entire stock (except direc- 
tors’ qualifying shares) of the Percival Dock Co., owners of the dock at Olympia, 
and of the Puget Sound Terminal (o.. operators of the docks at Shelton. Olympia
