Popular name for the company is “The Black Ball Line.” BUSINESS: Company is largest owner of automobile and passenger ferries, freight and passenger vessels on Puget Sound. Operates as a common carrier s>wning exclusive franchises on 19 ferry routes, Serves population in excess of 1,000,000, including cities of Seattle, Tacoma, Bellingham, Everett, Bremerton Anacortes and Port Angeles, Wash.; Victoria and Sidney, B. C. PROPERTY: Floating equipment consists of 19 ferry-type vessels, 7 passenger and freight vessels, 3 freight vessels, total 29 vessels. Owns wharves and term- inals in various Puget Sound ports.
