WESTERN DAIRY PRODUCTS COMPANY 
GENERAL OFFICE: 1501 Fourth Ave. So. Seattle, Wash. 
DIVISION OFFICES: Portland, Ore. and Los Angeles, Calif. 
HISTORY: Incorporated under laws of Delaware, Sept. 30, 1925, to acquire the 
assets, property (except certain real estate), business and goodwill of the follows 
ing manufacturers of ice cream operating throughout Washington and north- 
western Oregon:

Buttercup Ice Cream Co. 
Crystal Ice & Storage Co. 
Hazelwood Ice Cream Co. 
McMinnville Ice Co. 
Mt. Hood Ice Cream Co. 
White Clover Ice Cream Co. 
In March, 1926, company purchased the ice cream business and equipment 
therefor of Spokane Bakery Co. and leased that part of the plant of Spokane 
Bakery Co. devoted to ice cream business; erected a new plant in Spokane, and 
in the fall of 1926 acquired the business and assets of L. J. Christopher Co. of 
Los Angeles and the Hazelwood Co. of Spokane. 
Through its purchase of Crystal Ice & Storage Co. (see above), company 
acquired 519% of the capital stock of The Dalles Creamery Co., and in June, 1926, it 
acquired the rest of the stock and dissolved the corporation. 
In September, 1926, company acquired the Kelso (Wash.) Creamery Co. busi- 
ness and plant. 
In January, 1927, company acquired the business and assets of Tulip Cream- 
ery, Inc., of Bellingham, Wash, and also the dairy business of Ford Dairy Prod- 
ucts Co. (in receivership), which it consolidated with the Bellingham plant. 
Early in 1927 the company acquired ‘the entire Common stock of California 
Dairies, Inc.,, which was formed to acquire the business and assets (except cer- 
tain real estate, etc.) of Crescent Creamery Co. and L. J. Christopher Co. (for- 
merly owned by Western Dairy Products Co.). The name of California Dairies, 
Inc. (incorporated under laws of Maryland) was changed to Western Dairy 
Products, Inc., Nov. 15, 1929. 
Western Dairy Products, Inc, owns Arden Sanitary Gold Seal Farms (ac- 
quired May 1, 1929), which owns California Cooperative Creamery Co. Also owns 
Arden Dairy, Inc. (acquired June 1, 1929). Also minority interest in Continental 
Chain Stores, operating chain stores in southern California. 
BUSINESS: Company is manufacturer and distributor (both wholesale and re- 
tail) of milk, cream, ice cream, powdered milk and fountain supplies. Through 
generous advertising and merchandising work company has developed trade 
names of “Sunfreze Ice Cream,” “Arden Protected Milk” and “Hollywood Pro- 
tected Milk.” 
PLANTS & PROPERTY: Company owns several plants at Portland, Ore. in- 
cluding ice making, milk receiving, powdered milk manufacturing and ice cream 
factories, as well as engine and boiler rooms, garages and offices. It also owns 
ice and ice cream factories at Astoria and McMinnville, Ore.; Centralia, Everett, 
Kelso, Spokane, and Vancouver, Wash.; a creamery at Montesano, and a cheese 
factory (leased to others) at Yelm, In addition it leases plants at Albany, The 
Dalles and Salem, Ore., and Bellingham, Seattle, Spokane and Tacoma, Wash. 
Western Dairy Products, Inc., owns plants at Alhambra, Los Angeles, Re- 
dondo, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Pedro, Tipton, and a plant at Long Beach, 
which has been leased to others. It also leases plants or properties at Anaheim, 
Avalon, El Centro, Glendale, Hollywood, Long Beach, Pasadena, Pomona, Redondo, 
Santa Ana, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, Tweedy Road. Ventura and several at 
Los Angeles.
