HISTORY: Organized under laws of Washington in 1922, as a holding company, 
to build the Olympic Hotel, in Seattle. More than 3.000 citizens subscribed to the 
common stock and second mortgage bonds. 
BUILDING: Fourteen-story class "“A'" fireproof steel and concrete structure, 
occupying entire block between Fourth and Fifth Avenues and University and 
Seneca Streets, (except 85x129 occupied by Metropolitan Theater). Original build- 
ing containing 620 guest rooms opened Dec. 6. 1924 Additional 250 rooms added 
in 1929. 
LEASEHOLD: Ground is owned by University of Washington, of which Metro- 
politan Building Co. is lessee. Community Hotel Corp. holds sub-lease expiring 
Nov. 1, 1954. Annual rental $25,000, plus incidental charges. 
MANAGEMENT: Company leases hotel to Olympic Hotel Company, which is 
affiliated with United Hotels Company, operators of extensive chain of hotels 
over North America. Operating company pays annual rental which covers all 
fixed charges, including ground rental, taxes, assessments, insurance, interest 
and sinking fund requirements, and all other charges that mav be levied against 
the property.
