Los comerciantes franceses pueden tener en cuen ta las indicaciones suministradas por la Memoria de las existencias del Banco de Francia y de la Bolsa. Sin embargo, en 1907, en ella no se preveía la crisis americana. Se impone reemplazar las viejas teorías de las cri sis por la sobreproducción, por la noción siguiente: La causa objetiva de las crisis es la destrucción de los capitales por las guerras ó los despilf'arros, y la absorción por los capitales fijos de los capitales en circulación, que no han de recuperar su poder de ad quisición, sino à medida que son amortizados.
