Die Zahl der auf das Verkehrswesen entfallenden Techniker konnte nur annähernd geschätzt werden, denn von den von der Berufszählung ermittelten technischen Angestellten und Beamten, zum weitaus größten Teil auf die Reichsbahn und Reichspost entfallend, dürfte die Mehrzahl Beamte sein. Die Zahl der weiblichen Techniker ist wahrscheinlich etwas zu hoch.
