The condition of cattle in the S.H.S.Kingdomin 1925 was not satisfactory
as compared with the numerical strength in 1913. During the war the cattle of
the Kingdom of Serbia were decimated. Since the war however a slow but steady
recovery has been going on.
In spite of the difficulties large numbers of cattle and stockraising products
are exported from Jugoslavia every year, — meat, eggs, milk, cheese, butter and
leather. The value of this group of exports in 1925 was over 125 million gold dinars.
The rearing of silk worms is also a fairly well developed occupation, espe-
cially in South Serbia and Voivodina. The production of silkworms in 1925
reached 1.000.000 kegs. and attained a value of 8 million gold dinars.
