The accident severity performance has not been as satisfactory as
the accident frequency performance. Chart 37 shows that 310 com-
panies, or 86 per cent, experienced an over-all decrease of 27.9 per
cent in the accident severity rate; and 49 companies, or 14 per cent,
experienced an over-all increase of 75.2 per cent.
