Economic Committee 
Note by the Secretariat 
The Secretariat has the honour to communicate to the Members 
of the Economic Committee for their information, the text of a 
proposal submitted by Professor Max Krahmann, of the Higher 
Technical School at Charlottenburg, to the Committee on Intellec- 
tual Co-operation, suggesting the establishment of an International 
Institute of Mines. 
After a preliminary enquiry into the scheme, the Committee on 
Intellectual Co-operation decided during its session in July last, to 
refer it to the Sub-committee on Bibliography for consideration. 
The Institute for Intellectual Co-operation at Paris has also been 
instructed by it to undertake a preliminary investigation, keeping 
in touch with the Sub-committee. 
Further, the Committee on Intellectual Co-operation has re- 
quested the Secretariat to communicate the scheme to the Economic 
Section for information and necessary action. 
Protdosal 
for the creation of an International Mining Institute for the pro- 
motion of international economic understanding by means of 
scientific definition and practical agreement concerning method, 
terminology and nomenclature in mining, submitted to the Inter- 
national Committee on Intellectual Co-operation by 
Professor Max Krahmann, Technische Hochschule, 
Berlin-Charlottenburg.
