The first session of the Grand Council went off well, with- 
out disagreement between the two sections; but the Grand 
Council rejected the income, business, and certain other 
taxes proposed by the Government, and substituted a tax on 
vehicles and higher taxes on spirits, coffee, sugar, and tea.
