HISTORY: Chartered under Federal Farm Loan Act, in 1917. In 1925, owing
to agricultural depression, it was necessary for 11 other Farm Loan banks to advance
Spokane bank $4,495,930 to carry lands taken under foreclosures, accepting
participation certificates therefor. On March 31, 1930, total certificates still outstanding
were $2,799,850. Against this the Spokane bank held title to real estate
valued at $3,200,645, which when liquidated will be applied against outstanding
participation certificates.
