43. Nearly 80 per cent. of the rubber and balata belting entering
nternational trade is exported by the four countries, the United
Kingdom, Canada, the United States and Germany, of which the
United States is the chief exporter and the United Kingdom the
second. However, as the following table shows, the exports from
the United Kingdom of this form of belting for which the demand
is steadily increasing, did not, up to 1927, expand as rapidly as
those from anv of the chief competing countries.
