BRUNSWICK.

Labour is well organised at Brunswick. The principal trade unions (most
of which are of the “ Free” or Social Democratic type) are those of the metal
workers, brewery workers, factory workers and labourers, and the workpeople
engaged in the building trades. These organisations carry on a vigorous
agitation and have secured an increase of wages in several industries. In
connection with the Social Democratic Trades’ Federation, a Workmen’s
Secretariate is carried on.
