Manchuria by carts. Those were abnormal times. Sub-
sequently, order was restored and the traffic facility of the
C.E. Railway became improved towards attracting freights
better. The staple products consigned by the C.E. Railway
were destined principally to the Ussuri and the S.M.R.
Lines, for export abroad via Vladivostok, Dairen, Yingkou,
or Antung, excepting what was for only local transportation,
and also for consumption by the bean mills at these ports.
