existing  list,  yet  all  attendant  expenses  are
paid  out  of  the  reconstruction,  the  investor
not  being  asked  to  find  any  additional  money.
We  hope  that  this  book  will  tend  to
reduce  materially  the  number  of  badly  distributed ­
  investment  lists  which  at  present  exist,
and  thereby  prevent  further  large  loss  of
capital.  Quite  as  much  money  is  lost  from
want  of  adequate  distribution  of  capital  as
is  swallowed  up  by  losses  made  in  speculation ­
  and  gambling,  although  it  may  surprise
many  people  to  hear  that  this  is  so.
