To  give  the  reader  some  idea  how  the  stock
markets  are  scattered  over  the  surface  of  the
earth  we  append  the  following  list  of  principal
Stock  Exchanges  obtaining  in  each  of  the  nine
main  Geographical  Divisions  ;  a  reference  to
the  coloured  map  of  the  world  in  Chapter  V.
will  indicate  how  widely  they  are  distributed.
