Staaten an Baumwollwaren im Jahre 1913 7,2 „ an dem Inlandsverbrauch der europ. Staaten an Baumwollwaren im Jahre 1913 8,6 „ In der Produktion an Baumwollwaren steht Österreich-Ungarn an fünfter Stelle. Englands, Deutschlands, Rußlands und Frankreichs Baumwollindustrien sind größer. Die italienische steht gegen die Österreich-Ungarns zurück, hat aber trotz der kleineren Produktion eine höhere Ausfuhr. Die Entwickelung der Baumwollindustrie seit 1890 ergibt sich aus der Steigerung der Ein- und Ausfuhr. Die Steigerung der Ein- und Ausfuhr von 1890 bis 1913 beträgt: in der Einfuhr in der Ausfuhr 150 Proz. 557 Proz. Diese große Steigerung zeigt, daß sich die Baumwollindustrie erst in dieser Periode zur Ausfuhrindustrie entwickeln konnte. Auch in 'Italien finden wir annähernd die gleiche Erhöhung bzw. ist sie dort noch etwas günstiger. Sie beträgt: in der Einfuhr . in der Ausfuhr 120 Proz. 63s Proz. Der Verbrauch an Rohstoffen und Halbfabrikaten zeigt von 1890 bis 1913 eine Erhöhung von 132 Proz. Die Ausfuhr an Fertigwaren ist von 1890 bis 1913 um 978 Proz. gestiegen. Zum Vergleich sei erwähnt, daß die Ausfuhr Italiens eine Steigerung von annähernd 2000 Proz. aufweist, wie dies aus nachstehender Aufstellung hervorgeht: Die Ausfuhr an Fertigwaren betrug: 1890 1913 in Österreich-Ungarn . . . 110,0 Mill.
