APPENDIX. 301
(¢) An Editor to be appointed and located at the Amani
Institute.
d' The Journal to be issued bimonthly to begin with, and to
contain advertisements for which payment is to be made
on a scheduled scale.
A separate Journal account to be kept, the Government of
each territory to contribute towards the cost on the basis of
the number of Journals supplied, with a minimum
contribution.
Each Government to indent for the number of copies required,
these to be issued among the subscribers by the Department
of Agriculture or other organisation in the receiving country
at a charge, postage paid, of Shs. 10/- per annum.
Complimentary copies to Departments of Agriculture and
Institutions and persons in other countries, also to East
African Trade and Information Office, London, to be issued
direct by the Printer, according to list supplied by the Editor.
g) Reprints of articles in the form of bulletins to be supplied at
cost to Departments, as, and if, required.
kv An Editing Committee to be appointed and to consist of the
Director of Amani Institute (Chairman) when appointed,
together with the Directors of Agriculture of Kenya,
Tanganyika, Uganda, and Zanzibar, and any other
contributing territories.

Advertisements £120 per issue cx: £o ois od £720
Total revenue ... £1,470
Leaving £1,170 or, say, £1,200 to be defrayed by different
Governments.
It is not unlikely that use would be made of the services of the
Editor in some other capacity at Amani, e.g., as Librarian or Secretary,
and he could also edit the scientific memoirs which it is hoped may in
the course of time emanate from the Institute, which might in those
circumstances be expected to bear the cost of part of the salaries and
other expenses of the editorial service—thus reducing the amount to
be contributed bv the different Governments.
