Per cent. i 28-68 29.88 The changes in the proportion in each size group are not of great importance except in so far as they reveal a tendency for the medium-sized holdings to gain ground at the expense of the very small and very large holdings. It is, however, worth noting that 46 per cent. by number of the various occupations separately returned in 1924 were under 20 acres, but these accounted for less than 6 per cent. of the area. The bulk of the land, viz., 94 per cent. by area, is in holdings over 20 acres. There is a small movement in the average size of the different groups, but it is very slioht.
