Moreover, other tendencies are apparent in the nature and percentage amounts of change from year to year in the ratios of demand deposits to earning assets. These are best illustrated by the two following tables. As shown by Table 29, the direc- tion of change from year to year in the ratios of demand deposits to earning assets was not uniform among the various districts. It is of interest to determine whether the ratios which were increas- ing or decreasing from year to year were high or low, or vice versa, relative to their own levels.
