Chapter IX. Trade in Staple Produce 
SECTION I.—HOW BEANS, BEAN CAKE, & BEAN 
OIL, STAND 
Manchurian Beans, Bean Cake, and Bean Oil consti- 
tute the essence of the economic Manchuria, occupying 
a very important place in Manchurian trade. As may be 
seen from Table 14 appended hereto, total exports from 
Manchuria in the fiscal year 1926 reached about Hk. Tls. 
365,000,000. Beans took up Hk. Tis. 78,000,000, Bean 
€ake Hk. Tis. 87.000,000, and Bean Oil Hk. Tls. 84,000,- 
000, rolling up the nice total of about Hk. Tls. 200,000,000 
that is, 55 per cent of the total exports of Manchuria. In 
passing, Beans amounted to 21 per cent; Bean Cake. 24 
per cent; and Bean Oil. about 10 per cent. Apart from 
Bean Cake. the export of Beans and Bean Oil is on a steady 
increase.
