Die Ausdehnung der Produktion kann, wie wir gezeigt haben, 
nur bei einer gewissen Steigerung der Massenkonsumtion infolge 
der Bevölkerungszunahme oder der erhöhten Kaufkraft der Be 
völkerung stattfmden. In größerem Maße aber wie die Produk 
tion von Konsumtionsmitteln dehnt sich die Produktion der Pro 
duktionsmittel aus. Die Erweiterung des inneren Marktes geht 
hauptsächlich auf diesem letzten Wege vor sich. 
Ich rechnete das Kapital, den Arbeitslohn und den Wert der 
Produkte in den wichtigsten Produktionszweigen zusammen, die 
Nahrungsmittel verarbeiten. Das gleiche tat ich in bezug auf die 
Produktionsmittelindustrien, und ich erhielt auf diese Weise fol 
gendes Resultat:

Das Kapital stieg um 224 Proz. ; der Arbeitslohn um 115 Proz.

Das Kapital vermehrte sich hier um 315 Proz., der Arbeits 
lohn um 192 Proz. Ebenso stieg hier die Zahl der Arbeiter (wie 
man dies schon aus der Zunahme der Lohnsumme schließen 
kann) viel rascher als in der ersten Gruppe, der der Konsumtions 
mittelindustrien. 
Im Zusammenhang mit der rascheren Produktion der Arbeits 
mittel steht auch die höhere Zusammensetzung des Kapitals. In
