Zu Buch LITT, Cap. 2.
notions; as of Substance, Quality, Cause, Effect, Whole, Part etc.“
(p. 68).
3) Chap. V, Sect. I, p. 107.
57) A. a. O. p. 105f. — Vgl. bes. 106: „A Philosophy that
shall be solid, and sound, must have its Ground-work and Foun-
dations firmly laid; which none can have, but that which is
bottomed, rais’d and built upon evidence; I mean upon the cer-
tain Testimony of our faculties. And therefore since our
faculties do rather go upon Notions, than on Realities,
and do plainly distinguish between Mind and Matter and do...
contradistinguish them, I hold myself obliged to treat of these
distinctly, but still in the Real Notional way.“
3) A. a. O. p. 109.
39) „All the Sentiments of Sense, those of the Mind, and even
mere Objective Notions, are Things, not things of Mundane and
External Existence, but of Cogitation. and Notion; Intentional,
not Real things. For such are Colours, Sounds, Sapors, Time,
Place, Substance, Accident, Cause, Effect etc.; they are In-
tentional things, things, that, as such have only an Esse objecti-
vum, an Esse cognitum, as the Schoolmen phrase it“ (Chap. IV,
Sect. I, p. 79).
%) Vgl. Lyon, a. a. O. p. 85f.
4) Für Geulinex vgl. E. Grimm, Arn. Geulincx’ Erkenntnis-
(Vgl. hrz.
