par l’usage.—Tels étaient, jusqu’à ces derniers temps, 
les principaux moyens de réduire le travail à 8 heures par 
jour ou à 48 heures par semaine. 
Aux États-Unis, la semaine de 48 heures ou moins est 
générale, en, vertu de conventions de ce genre, dans les 
industries dont on trouvera la liste ci-après (p. 56) :—
