perative to bring about concentrated research in these matters of
interest.
A. Organisation
Should mining specialists wish to join in this endeavour, the
first requirement would be the establishment of a practical organi-
sation facilitating the co-operation of all interests concerned.
We intend, as a first step, to establish a free “Association” and
we invite you, herewith, to co-operate by becoming a member;
please to signify your willingness to concur by applying your signa-
ture to the annexed card. The aforesaid association is intended
to lead, in the near future, to the establishment of an “International
Institute for Mining Economics”.
The program (to be published this winter) will furnish further
particulars with respect to the ends and means of and first prac-
tical steps to be taken by the Association, and it will also contain
suggesstions regarding special points of interest.
There will be formed, within the association, different groups
for special research in accordance with the declarations of adhesion
we shall receive. The members will be given a chance of coming
into personal touch with each other through meetings to be held
not only at Berlin and other German towns, but also in other
countries,
A booklet containing communications, the “Bergwirtschaftliche
Mitteilungen” (Communications on Mining Economics) will keep
the members informed as to various details of the organisation,
new memberships, formation of groups, topics of treatises, lectures,
personal news, congresses and the reduction of costs accorded to
members.
